Yeah.. it never works for everyone, and that is ok. I am in Portugal, which is the same as UK. I was really considering trying but I know it will be hard and I won't be at my best. In any case I hope this one is a great success so you want to do many more!
This is great! I especially love the longer, "surprise" sequence--the payoff really works! And I agree with you, that comic about Kobi is beautiful. Going back and reading it again... it still hits me right in the feels. ❤️
Ah man, thank you. I made the Kobi story in such a sad frenzy but I'm proud of that one.
I read the Kobi story once at an all ages event (at Sydney Town hall of all places) and a parent came up to me afterward and told me I made her daughter cry during the bit when people dissolve into abstraction/grief. He said his daughter turned to him and told him she didn't know why she was crying. And I was all... HOORAY! It works! Haha.
This exercise introduces the concept a bit more directly, but I definitely think using visual association less directly works better and is more interesting.
Ahhh... I am so slow.. I would love to hear about future classes!
I was going to ask if there is a slight chance the workshop to be recorded because my time zone is a hard fit unfortunately.
Hey Svetla! Totally happy to make things work. I know the times I went with for the workshop were no good for folks in the UK.

Such a good and clear comic. Thankyou: I love this.
This is good to know! Your 7 pm is midnight in the UK when this illustrator is a thousand leagues under the duvet.
Bummer - I missed out on enrolling too - I knew it would go fast, despite it being the busiest time of year!
I would be interested in next year's courses, etc - I'm on SAW mailing list, so hopefully this might be where you'll be doing these :)
Ah man, would have been cool to have you in there.
I'm sure SAW will send something out and I'll let you know too!

This made me laugh! What a great idea for comics making...
Love this. So grateful. Im feeling encouraged.
So glad to hear it! I had so much fun making this one.
